Levis and Taylor met at the end of 2019 while Taylor was living in Grand Junction finishing up school and Levis was living in Gypsum working as a volunteer firefighter and full time at the Eagle County Jet Center. They met online through a mutual friend where they began texting and talking for over a month before they met halfway in Rifle, CO for their first date. It was obvious that after their first date each of them were smitten for each other. Over the next 11 months they did "long distance" dating as they took turns spending their weekends in Gypsum and Grand Junction. After Taylor had graduated from Colorado Mesa University in December 2020 she packed up all her things and moved to Gypsum to live with Levis. They spent the next 3 and a half years living in Gypsum with their dog Riley and cat Nova.

In April of 2024 Levis and Taylor took a trip of a lifetime to Italy. Before the trip Taylor had read the book "One Italian Summer" where the book was based at the Hotel Poseidon in Positano, Italy on the Amalfi Coast. This was the only place that Taylor truly wanted to visit and see the hotel for herself. Levis knowing this, walked Taylor to the hotel (after a lot of convincing and Taylor being stubborn) where he proceeded to have them stand in front of the hotel sign and "take a photo". He then looked at Taylor, held her hands and got down on one knee and asked Taylor to marry him! This was an engagement that came at the most perfect time in the most perfect location!
